I am not sure what I did but recently the SuperUser and Portal Admin can no longer upload files.  I can create a new role and it allows for file upload.  I can FTP file and they work fine.  I am using DNN 4.3.5.  Thanks

Version 4.3.5 had a nomber of issues with the new file system, that have been solved meanwhile, I suggest to upgrade to latest version 4.5.5

Hello

I am on Shared Hosting and my hosting provider is in the process of configuring the 1 click install/upgrade to upgrade those accounts not on SQL2005 and lower then DNN 4.5.5 .  I don't have a timeframe from the provider; so is there any other workaround.  It looks like no accoounts for my DNN instance can be made to upload files.  I can FTP fine.

Thanks

You can still upgrade via FTP, and use the built in install scripts that come with DNN, you don't have to wait for your web host, as long as they don't have any reason to deny you from doing that.  My host, webhost4life has an auto install of DNN 4.5.3, but I've chosen not to use it and did a clean install of DNN 4.5.5 myself via FTP to have a more current version.  Just be sure to read all the DNN upgrade documentation and be sure you keep a copy of the machine keys from the web.config file, you will need to replace them in the web.config file after the upgrade in order to be able to login to the site again.  The built-in installs at the web host's can be convenient, but not necessary if you can FTP the files into the proper directories and follow the documentation very closely yourself...  again, just be sure to backup that web.config file and keep it handy.
