I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude to the people who found this bug and posted it here... Thank you!

You saved me $85/hr troubleshooting expense with my hosting provider after a failed upgrade this morning on a movie trailers site I've been building with the great purchased modules from the DNN community of programmers!

Being that we are a part of the open source community.... I forwarded this but to my hosting provider and let them know it would be $85/hr for finding this informaiton for them to prevent headaches if they encounter this with other customers!.... LOL.... I did put just kidding at the end....

It worked like a charm and I didn't realize that I didn't need whitespace filter disabled because I'm already using compression.

Much Much appreciated!

Sincerely,

Robert Barbeiro

I have the same problem, but compounded by having the compression problem/error message. If I go to the database and turn off the compression and whitespace fileter, my site works and loads fine. But if I enable either of them, it is FUBAR.

Any suggestions? The web.config looks like the following, which is the same as what is in the UPGRADE.

<

add name="Compression" type="DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Compression.CompressionModule, DotNetNuke.HttpModules" />
