Hello,

How do you unlock the house account on a portal if you're the host? I've gone and locked my account on my website could use some help.

Thanks,
Dd.

Open the DB with a database viewer and add a row to the user table with IsSuperUser set to True.

If you just locked out the account you can simply go into the database and look at the values for the user in the "users" and "aspnet_membership" tables and update the columns as needed.

Thanks, that is what I thought would be the option. I'm in now :)

If it's a simple situation where you mis-typed your password a fw times, go into the web.config and change the bad password threshold.  (been there, done that)
Plus, you can change the duration of the lockout.  Do this before you lock yourself out.

If it's a situation where you updated DNN and can no longer log in, you forgot to copy the MachineKey from the Backup web.config file you created prior to upgrading.  (been there, done that)
I've learned (the hard way) to zip the whole web directory prior to upgrading.

I've also learned to have more than one Host account; and neither should be named Admin or Host.
