Now that I'm thinking about it, it sounds like it's not getting full access to the AD. On the Admin->Authentication page if you click Update does everything come back with an OK? Is there a chance that the password for the account you're using to contact the AD has changed? Or the account you're using for impersonation (if you're using it in your web.config).

Now that you mention it... i had to change my AD password these days. So that could be it. I just reconfigure everything again and i see al the ok´s.
