Trying to get DotNetNuke working. Followed every guide out there and all I get is a 404 error when I attempt to browse to any page.

Anyone else run into this issue? As far as I can tell the permissions are correct and everything should be set up correctly.

Any pointers are welcome!

While waiting for the post to be approved I finally, after days of of trying to figure it out, I finally got it.

ASP 2.0 needs to be allowed as a web service extension. If you don't see it in IIS under web service extensions (Below the Web Site selection) the easiest fix is to reinstall and reboot. Voila, no more 404 error.

Derek...

Thank you! I've been fighting this for days, also. Your fix was my fix (and did I need a fix!)

To the documentation maintainers - please add a note in the install document to address this requirement!

Thanks a ton Derek.  I appreciate your follow up info.

Note to the powers that be:  PLEASE UPDATE THE DNN DOCUMENTATION ALREADY !!!!!

I've been using DNN since v3 and have had to clunk through issues on many different servers and clients pertaining to setup and config issues and have had a really hard time getting concise information each and every time.

Maybe if the key players for DNN realized that they need to make things a little more accessible to the everyman, this application would gain more acceptance.  I get so frustrated sometimes that even I blow DNN off and go create a Blogger page to serve my needs.
