Can you explain a bit more?  This doesn't look like an install issue with the forums.

  1. I had a clean install of DNN 3.0.13
  2. I uploaded and installed the forum/blog pa
  3. I created a new page called blog.
  4. I added a blog module.
  5. It said to go to configure blog so I did.
  6. Then it said to manage categories when I did I got the object not set to instance error.

Sorry  I am not more clear. I am new to DNN.  Is there some other info you need?

Any suggestions as to where I should start to look?  I have installed each release that has been offered.  Each time with a clean install of DNN.  I have yet been able to create a blog or forum in any verison.  I continue to get the error above.

My initial guess is to check your permissions.  You are saying this happens with either forum, blog, or gallery after updating configuration?

You need to add master categories and sub categories for the blog and you need to add Forum groups and individual forums to start threads in a forum.  As for the gallery, when you initialize it, it creates a directory in the Portals\ID\ named based on your gallery name.
