So I'm not the only one who's had problems with them I see. They've since moved my site to another "less crowded" server and it is better (around 94% as opposed to 88%), but not great. And it took me threatening to leave and write bad reviews to get that much out of them. I'm not one to throw that out there unless absolutely necessary. When it's enough of a problem that my client puts their foot down I'll probably recommend PowerDNN. I've heard good things about them from several people already. A bit pricey, but yes, you do get what you pay for, and 20-50 bucks is certainly better than a dedicated server, which is understandably the best route, but also around $300/month.

Ill throw my hat into the ring and agree the WH4L isnt up to speed major stability issues, slow:very slow and time outs to name a few..   plus the help dest usually requires several tickets to get a job done and yes there are time when thet cant resolve the issue.  I had one site down for months...

I switched to Powerdnn and it was hands down the best choice I've made in my DNN career. HIGHLY recommended. THEY SET UP MY SITE FOR ME COMPLETELY. All I had to do was set up the certificate and a few minor things. I'm stoked. It costs me $50/month but it's worth it for 100% uptime and being able to sleep at night.

I fall under the screwed over category with webhost4life as well. Don't bother. I have been unable to log into the web host administration application console for several hours now. I opened a ticket with them and the tech thought I was talking about my actual site and started telling me (an MCSD) all about the DNN cache clearing, etc...

At this very moment, they still don't understand that I am talking about THIER management application and not my site. I have repeatedly done traceroutes on their networks and regularly see 200-300 ms hops inside their subnets.

I can get better performance out of a commercial class roadrunner connection on a P3 1Ghz box with 256 mb of RAM.

Speaks volumes for their business.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but I'm in the middle of moving off of WebHost(NOT)4Life myself after only a year.  Going to 3E based on some recommendations here.  I can see even my regular .Net apps are much faster already. DNN was unusable on their servers.

I had nothing but problems with 4L.  Speed issues, downtime, email challenges, support personnel communication problems, and something in particular that stuck in my crawl - they charge a "renewal fee" of $10 per domain!  For me, that would've been a $280 "punishment for staying with us".  I even called to try to play the smooth "I'm sure you'll waive that fee for your good customers".  No dice.  That fee is not mentioned anywhere when you sign up.

Guess you get what you pay for.
