I just put together a site for a gaming community to use and the only complaint I have gotten so far is that they do not want to login every time.  I am using dnn 4.6.  Is there a way to automatically log in to a site?  Possibly through the use of cookies?  Any thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

When the user logins, ask them to check the box Remember Login.  This used to work great in DNN 3.  In DNN 4, sometimes it works and sometime it does not.

When changing the site over a few days ago I was amazed that the one and ony complaint was the autologin.  I asked a couple of my members to check the remember login and they said they already did.  Not sure what I am missing but that feature doesn't seem to work or I have something configured wrong.  I have tested it here with ie7 and FF2.0.07 with the same failed results.  Both browsers have cookies enabled.  Is there any other configuration that might need to be done on the site to get this to work?

this feature is set to 60 minutes duration by default, after this the login cookie times out. Vou can increase this value in your web.config, simply search for timeout="60":

That is awsome!  Worked like a charm!  I think this is one of those little tips that would be nice to be able to set for each portal.  In my case I created a new portal for the site in question so I am good!!!  Thanks for the info Leupold
