Terp,

I totally agree with you. I have joined the DNN community in 2005 where the responses from the core team were excellent.

Now it feels that we are operating into a totally new environment with Mitchel and some other cool guys responding to the a high

percentage of the posts. It looks like this is done on purpose from the DNN team just to indicate the need for a paid response

and in the near future start charging for support.

Am I right DNN team? - Well, I'm not expecting an answer here because I haven't paid yet.

Kynigos,

Are you using a third party URLReWrite? I know when I was using an earlier release of the Ventrian Friendly URLReWrite, I experienced the same issue. The has since been corrected.

Doesn't the DNN team read these posts?

As for whether or not the DNN team reads these posts, I'll just say that I have noticed a total depreciation in response times since the forums went from being moderated to open postings; this change brought with it a turnover in moderators, as some of the most helpful individuals were asked to take their balls and go home. As a result, I see the same 4-5 people tackling the the bulk of the postings.  Perhaps a moderator could share some of the stats with us? My time here is still being measured in months and today's DNN forums seem markedly different that when I find arrived...

With that said, there are some project areas that are totally on their game and a pleasure to post in...very, very helpful, quite responsive, and receptive to user concerns and outstanding issues and go out of their way to improve upon the project...survey comes to mind.

yes, I read this post and I answer a number of posts every day - so do some other core team members as well. When you have a look at the past threads, there are very few, that don't get a reply - not all frome core team, but please note as well, that forums shall work on a community base, "users helping users", because core team members already spend part of their free time to develop core framework, modules and execute other tasks.

BTW: these forums are and have always been moderated for novice users, i.e. their posts get a little bit more attention as they always have to be reviewed by the moderator, who often immediately adds an answer. From my experience, the forums have not much changed since they were started ~2 years ago.

Yes, I would be lost and probably would have written the sunk costs of modules/skins off to lessons-learned and moved to Joomla! if it weren't for Mitchel, John M., and Leupold being so helpful when I run into problems with DNN.
