I had a similiar requirement recently, not quite all of the requirements you have, but I ended up using the repository module and writing a custom template for it. It's basically just a product viewer.

You can view it here: Mylec Products

I never gave the Repository module a fair shot until I did this. Made me look at it very differently.

After seeing that use I to have a new appreciation for the repository module, nice use and gives me a few ideas for my own use.

Thanks

Hi,

Have you thought about using the latest User Defined Table with some customized style sheets?  I've been using the UDT module for some inventory items in this way.  I like the fact the UDT integrates with user roles, so I have different roles in charge of different inventory items and only that group can change their inventory items on the module.

Hope this helps.

Jerry

wow that looks good and would work well as a catalogue. When you add a product and decription is it still using the full text editor or a custom area? In terms of skills needed to write a custom script is this something a 'backend' developer would have to do to the source code...How long did it take you?
