Hello all,

Is there a module somewhere that will allow you to insert the last modified date for any text/HTML modules on the page? It's part of our requirement to include a last modified date for a page, coming from another CMS that had it as part of its standard feature set, I'm surprised to say so far I haven't been able to find a module to do it. Does anyone have any suggestion on a module to try, or some other workaround to get a modified date for a page? It doesn't have to be the modified date for everything on the page, just any text/html module on the page.

Many thanks for any help.

Dale

you will need to modify the html module adding this fields, that shall be an easy task.

Thanks for the reply,

I need to have this info displayed in a foooter on the page and inside some metadata for the page, will I be able to achieve this with that method? Can you point me to an example of how to modify the HTLM module?

Thanks again!

Dale

please, always distinct between page and module, module information can be displayed in a module only, i.e. you can provide the "last modified" date for a module content at the bottom of the module and e.g. UserDefinedTable stores this data automatically and allows to display it together with the records.

If you want to modify an existing module like Text/HTML, first have a look at the module development tutorials from Michael Washington at dotnetnuke.edefwebserver.com and afterwards modify source of the HTML module installed in /app_Code/HTML and /desktopModules/HTML. It is a good idea to rename these folders and and namespaces, to avoit it from getting overwritten with an updated version of the original module.

I guess the thing I was hoping to find would be a module that would be clever enough to know the last modified date of any html modules on the page. That way I could put the information in a footer, rather than in the html module content itself. Being new to DNN its a bit hazy as to the line between modules and pages, so apologies for any confusion.
