I'm having trouble with the text alignment of my page.

I've created an "About Us" page and I've inserted a test/html module in the content section of that page.  I put some text in there, made sure that the alignment was set to "Left" but when I view the page the text is always centered.  Anybody know why this is happening?

Thanks

Calvin

I've had something like that when I tell it to not display the container.

I think I have to go back and re-tell it to align left and that generally works.

Is this skin related? does it get fixed if you change your skin? if that isnt the case then is it Container related?

if it is one of them then check the css for either and see what .Normal class is?

Hi,
All of the Panes in the standard DNN skins has the align-tag set to center, and the ContentPane in the actual container file is also set to center. I can't offhand tell you what inherits what, but I guess the container css don't load when you choose to use no skin, or if you have changed the css file in some way. I believe the css overrule the hard-coded html tags.

Skinfile:
<TD class="contentpane" id="ContentPane" runat="server" valign="top" align="center">

Container:
<TD id="ContentPane" runat="server" align="center">

But to hard-code appearance in skin-files have to be a bad idea regarding skinning rules? I hate when I don't get the right response when editing a css file, the fault localisation with all those css file is troublesome enough.

I don't know, just a hunch

Regards,
Bonavox

This brings up a problem we have here.

Why do the standard modules hard code "normal" as the class?  That means you cannot have two text/html modules that are styled differently.  I believe that modules should allow the user to assign a style to the module not hard code one.  Then they would be more flexible.  All the modules I build have user definable css classes.
