I would like to upgrade to 4.6.2 . Can I use my 4.5.x web.config instead of merging the two web.configs together?

Thanks

Hi Coolvibe,

I upgraded from 4.5.3 to 4.6.2 on my dev machine and used my previous web config file with no apparent ill effects.  I remember someone posting that there were no changes to the web config file from 4.5.x to 4.6.  I know this is not a recommended method but it sure was a nice shortcut for me, especially since my web config has many customizations to it.

Thanks Leupold and Paul. I think I will try my old web.config and see what happens. If it does not work out, I will follow the directions leupold informed me about. I took have a lot of changes in my web.config too!

Hint: it is always best practice to document manual changes for easier merge
