It will help in speeding up the transmission of the page from the server to the browser.  It will 'slow down' the creation of the page on the server because the compression has to run on the page.  Normally, the first has more impact than the latter.

When looking at 'speeding up' a DNN site you have to look at a combination of items including compression, caching and App Pool settings each have an effect.  You then have the server specs as well.

In dnn, it already has setting of selecting compression which means dnn has the compression functionality and one does need to add blowery compression?

Thanks

Yes Blowery compression is already built in to DNN.  You just need to turn it on in the Host settings.
