Ok, I got it to work.  Thanks much for your help.

Your second, simpler, approach is interesting, however, since when I first looked at this problem, my first inclination was to do it exactly that way.  However it didn't seem to be the ASP.NET way, and I wanted to do it using ASP controls.  However, I worry a little about the efficiency of it all.  There seems to be a lot going on under the hood, and I have noticed that the pages can take a long time to be displayed, even on my own server, which has no load on it whatsoever.

Now that I have it working the ASP.NET way, would it be your opinion that using an html template with tags would actually be a better choice?
