Lets hope it was that - I'll be monitoring it over the next couple of days... do you recommend using the Auto-Shrink property in SQL 2005? I thought I read it was being deprecated for some reason.

Hmm - the site timed-out again unfortunately. It's definitely a little less sluggish but the log file is only 7 megs now.

 

Which leads me back to my initial question - could another database on the VPS affect this database if it used up all the connections, or are they protected in their own space? Is there any easy way to tell which SQL process is causing the problem?

 

Much appreciated...

If you have access to the database server, you can use SQL profiler to figure some of this out.
