We have just installed version 3 of the Help module but could only find the User Manual for Version 2. What we were really looking for is what functionality is provided by the module settings for "Root path for Images", "Upload XML" and "Upload Images". Is there a format for preparing the help content off-line and then importing it?

We had a look at the other forum entries but could not find anything there. Sorry but we might have missed something on the module usage.

Great module with a lot of potential.

Hi there.  Ok the root path for Images is usually something like Portals/0/Images.  When you import the content this value is replaced in the imported XML with the value in you enter.  this gives you the ability to move content from site to site.

Upload XML allows you to upload the XML content.

Uplaod images allows you to uplaod a zip fo the images for the content.

You can prepare your content offline in a local version of the Help on a DNN site, export it, then import online just like we do for the online Help.

Just to see if I have understood correctly what is the difference between the module import and the XML import, then the module Import function just does a straight import of whatever has been exported whilst the Upload XML allows for replacement of the root path for images contained within the XML file.

Thanks for your assistance.

Roger

Hi Roger,

In previous versions of DNN only Admins could upload the importable XML files so we added the ability for the module admin to upload XML as well.  This isnt needed anymore and may be removed in a future release.

The root path images property is so that when you import the content the images path throguhout all the HTML is replaced so that the iamges will show correctly.  This allows you to Export from one site and import into another.

Do you have an ETA on a manual for version 3.x?
