I was trying to make a complex website using dotnetnuke, but I'm noticing that DNN is not meant to be used as base for sites with a complex graphics... too many nested divs and span.
And also all the texts are styled with fixed fonts size, also the basics hx tags are restyled:

h3
{
font-family: Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica;
font-size: 12px;
font-weight: normal;
color: rgb(0, 51, 102);
}

Why such a funny CSS deafult?
having fixed sizes prevents people to use relative sizes in skins...

any plan in rethinking the way defaults CSS are?

The default.css file is a fall back to ensure that all elements are in there, should the skin file not have it present. But you can override every single element of the CSS by putting it into your skin.css file - or closer still by putting it into your skinfilename.css / skinfilename.ascx configuration.

If there was no default.css it would render a pretty ugly site in times new roman!

Have you tried putting some of the classes to your requirements in the skin.css file?

Simone,

I don't think the default.css need to (or better should not) influence your design, nor does it need to be re-thought. I just ensures that styles are present. Although, on second thought I might have been better if all styles would have had really noticable styles like:

font-color: pink;
font-size: 50px;
background-color: purple
...

This makes testing my skins much easier ;)
