I need to integrate a database into my existing DNN website.  Basically, what I need to do is the following:

1.  Site visitors see a page with a form that allows them to search/filter a database.  They enter search preferences for multiple fields, and click "Search".

2.  The results of their search come up in a table format.  They can then sort the table by clicking on the top of a any column in the table.

3.  They can click on a certain field in any record and it will take them to a specific page--could be a page on my DNN site or it could be a link to someone else's site.

For this type of solution on a plain ol' HTML site, I've used Caspio Bridge Online (www.caspio.com).  But to make that work on a DNN site, I will have to set up separate HTML pages which I then import into my DNN site using the IFrame module--and there are issues there that I prefer to avoid.

I would much rather integrate the database directly into my DNN site using some sort of module.  Anyone have any ideas?

It sounds like something the User defined Table module could do with a little tweaking on your part.

My group is doing this with custom modules talking directly to our own tables.

We create SQL tables of our own design.  Then we create a custom module to search, list, view, and edit data in the table/query.  We install these modules and use them in the DNN framework.

Its a project, and takes some time.  We looked at the 'user tables' option, but it did not do enough for what we wanted.
