Hi everyone.

I'm installing my PA from a zip. Everything I need is in the .DNN file. I'm using 4.6.x.

When I install the module, I get all the messages for every file and then at the end I see this....

EndJob Reading files done.

Failure ExceptionSystem.Exception: Dnn load failed, aborting at
DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnLoaderFactory.GetDnnAdapter() at
DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.Install()

Nothing gets installed (added). There are no errors in the log.

Can anyone help please?

THANKS!

It looks like the installer is having a problem reading the .dnn manifest file. What happens when you run the .dnn manifest through the Module Definition Validator?  Was the file saved as UTF-8 encoding? Is the top level node of your .dnn file as follows:

<dotnetnuke version="3.0" type="Module">

The top node is

<

dotnetnuke version="4.0" type="Module">

When I run the validate .dnn I get

A critical error has occurred.
Dnn load failed, aborting

Also, when I run the validate, I do get an error in the log. Here it is....

Ok...I figured it out...

dotnetnuke version="4.0" is causing the problem.

It has to be 3.0

Maybe if the error message was a little more descriptive.............................................   :)
