Would love your opinions on this site www.viewtech.com.au .  Built using DNN 4.55 with Bi4ce Listx as the rendering engine.

Very nice! The only constructive criticism I could offer would be that if you were to move the DNN logo to the other site, perhaps the entire site would be displayed, to include the footer, without having to scroll @ 1440x900...would add a little more balance to the right and left panes. :)

...love how everything is fetched and rendered...slick.

Hi John,

This is a great looking skin.  Kudos to the designer.  A couple of things I noticed:

1) Under Content Management Solutions - View Technology build Content Management Solutions should be View Technology builds Content Management Solutions.

2) The fetching data (progress bar of AJAX) appears unnecessary since the page content loads faster than loading a new page for that content.  It also makes the content section  "jump" a little whereas without the fetching data feature the content section would transition smoothly.

Overall, a great implementation and showcase of some great DNN features.

Thanks for your comments guys. I agree that the "fetching data" message isn't ideal... especially the way the content jumps. I've left it in because at times, when the server is slow, its hard to tell that anything is happening (did i click?.. should i click again?). I'm hoping to change this to a much smoother graphic. Maybe as an embedded skin object that flashes during every Ajax call?.

The skin is a slightly modified version of a blackpond skin called seattle We created a few custom containers from the supplied skin graphics. These containers are used on the satellite modules. When we chose the black skin, we didn't realise just how difficult it was going to be to get graphics to look reasonable on black. We had to change some of the DNN supplied graphics (required.gif, save.gif...) because there were slight imperfections in the images that gave them a jagged edge only visible on dark backgrounds.

I also don't like the way the DNN logo appears on the black skin. If anyone knows of a good looking DNN logo on a black background skin, then i'd love to see it. And yes, it probably will balance a bit better if the logo was on the left pane.  I'll get to this sometime soon.

Anyway, thanks for the constructive comments guys. Some time early next year, we're hoping to use our gold & silver module as a freebie to attract visitors to the site. Other modules that we're working on are Stock Quotes (likely to also be a freebie) & our own CMS built to complement DNN.

Cheers
