This is probably more of an ISA 2004 issue than a DNN issue since it works fine internally, but maybe one of you have run across something similar and could help me.

I have a site with 3 or 4 portals.  I typically like to setup the portal layout of a new portal as a child portal and then once it is done add the actual domain name as an alias.  This process seems to be working fine internally and most of my alias can be accessed externally.  However, I have one site that continues to say "Under Construction" if I try to access it externally.

I use ISA 2004 as a firewall, but I don't think this is the problem because I have all but the one domain working externally going through this firewall.  However this one problem site always shows "Under Construction" and the ISA firewall log shows two entries.  The first entry is simply www.domain.com while the second entry is to www.domain.com/pagerror.gif.

I have tried everything that I can think of but I would be thrilled if any of you have any suggestions or have come across this before.

Without knowing what you have done, it's tough to say what must be corrected. The steps should be simple though:

  1. DNS record
  2. ISA Destination Rule and Web Publishing
  3. IIS Host Header
  4. DNN Alias

Do you know the truth when you hear it?
