When i take a robocopy of my folder en place it into another iis installation.
i open dnn in the webbrowser, and i get the following error:

Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to failure in retrieving the user's local application data path. Please make sure the user has a local user profile on the computer. The connection will be closed.

does someone know what to do about it?

I suppose I should have put a disclaimer on my batch file... *grin*

That technique only works IF you are using SQL Server Express, IF you leave it at the default location, and IF you have the same security groups setup on your test machine.

From the description, it sounds like you have IIS setup to run as a different user on your second computer.   Go through your DNN directory structure, and verify that the account IIS is running under is authorized to modify that directory.
