Have upgraded to the new forum module and it works great in all regards except I cannot create new threads as a "general" registered user.  Checked the permissions and they are all set correctly however it isn't a permissions issue (error message), but rather the evil module load error: "An error has occurred; Error: add/edit post is unavailable"

Edit: I CAN reply or edit existing threads as a registered user and post new threads as an admin or host.

Looking in the event viewer yields:

Weird.  I went in and edited my profile (as a general user) and now it works.  Muy strange.

I am wondering if this is a issue immediately seen after upgrade because of caching of previous items. Did this happen within an hour of upgrading the module?

Yes.  I think it was within a half hour, actually.  I went through all the admin settings first, checked all that out.  Then once I was satisfied the update was complete and everything looked good I logged in as my regular profile and tried to create a post.  *BOOM!*  Logged back in as admin, made a post successfully.  Went back in as myself, could reply to that post but not add any new threads.  Logged out, back in as admin and checked all the settings again... logged out, back in as me, tried it and failed.  Finally decided to post up here, went back immediately after my post and thought "what the heck, I'll try it one more time" and it worked.  All told, maybe a half hour passed.

On the bright side everything I had hoped for in this new release now works.  I have no issues with the email notifications, tracking, etc.  Woohoo!  I love it!

I think you may be right about it being a caching issue though.  Good to know.
