menu

I have HouseMenu installed.

It was originally set up as an unordered list and I would like to keep it that way.

Here are things I am struggling with:

-Getting rid of "Home" (I tried setting ShowHome to False in the XML, but it had no effect)

-Having a different background behind each menu item

Thanks in advance

My new idea is to have 4 different menus with scope set to the tab id of parent page.

Here are some problems I am facing:

  • How do you get different IDs for the items in each menu? It is generating 4 divs with the ID of "HouseMenuNav" and so on.
  • Each menu is putting the parent item on the same level li as its children. How can I make the children be invisible until the parent is rolled over?

I figured out the unique ID thing. I just gave a different value for the "CssElementId" setting for each token (HOUSEMENU:1, HOUSEMENU:2, etc)

I know it seems pretty obvious, but I'm completely new to DNN and find it pretty overwhelming.

I am not familiar with HouseMenu, but you might have a look at the CSS Nav Menu by Snapsis...

Just a little update. I'm back to having one menu.

Here's how I fixed my initial problems.

-Getting rid of "Home":
I put the following in my css file.

#HouseMenuNavItemHome {
    display:none;
}

-Different background behind each menu item:
I made one image out of the four tabs and made that the background for my ul.
