Hi,

Sorry if I missed this, but all my URLs seem to be passing the language around:

http://www.pokerdiy.com/Home/PokerPlayerProfile/tabid/391/ID/1/language/en-US/Default.aspx

it used to be:

http://www.pokerdiy.com/Home/PokerPlayerProfile/tabid/391/ID/1/Default.aspx

When I was running 4.5.1 - I am worried about SEO - where is this coming from, is it new, and how do I disable it?

Hi Rodney,

Actually this change was done with SEO in mind. Up until now, it was always very difficult to create permanent unique urls for multi lingual content. This new feature (which sits in a new NavigateURL overload), adds a language parameter to your urls if you have more than one languages enabled on your site.

Your site does not seem to have more than one active language, so the easiest thing you can do to turn this off is to disable all languages other than en-US in your portal, or in host (from admin > languages or host > languages)

If you do use multiple languages, you can also turn this feature off by unchecking the checkbox in admin>languages .

Hi Erik,

Thanks for the response - I need to have the UK and US cultures as I use them in my league module to drive currency formatting etc.

I have unchecked the option under Languages. Out of interest, what does Enable Browser Languages do? Is that inserting the language into the HTML so the browser has help understanding it?

I assume it detects your system language as reported by the requesting user agent.

Tom is right: if you check Enable Browser Languages the system tries to read language from the browser instead of always using portal default language for anymous users.
