you cannot execute scripts manually due to the variables contained.

ok now I even tried to install an older version(4.5...)

 

same error as the new version, I think I stop now trying to install DNN the time effort isn´t worth it! And I´m a bit dissapointed about the support.

zentur,

this error usually indicates, that there are access permisison issues for your database. unfortunately usually the database has already be modified and I strongly recommend to start again with a blank one, making sure, all permissions are adjusting correctly.

I was a bit surprised to get this error when my problem was NOTHING to do with the DB.  

In my case I had not given the correct account read/write/modify permissions for the folder that the site lives in. 

For me I should have given those permissions to ASPNET, but I was thinking like a server wonk and had given the permissions to NETWORK SERVICE by mistake.

In my experience this error does not usually mean access permission issues against the database.  To get this far the site must have established a successful connection to SQL Server.
