I create a folder in File Manager and five the folder View Permisions to only 2 user groups on my site. The problem I am having is that an external link to any of the files placed in that directory are directly accessible via URL without the user being prompted for a login. Anybody have any idea what the issue may be?

Thanks,
Frank

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think you need to switch to "Secure File System."

DNN 4.0.2 does not provide an option to secure your files, you need to upgrade to 4.4.1 or a later version (4.6.2 is current), where you can create secure folders as mentioned before..

I'm running 4.6.2 and I have the same problem. I have the file manager set on secure storage. Did you find a solution?

I am doing the only thing that seems to be an option. I am proposing an upgrade path to my client.
