I create a folder in File Manager and five the folder View Permisions to only 2 user groups on my site. The problem I am having is that an external link to any of the files placed in that directory are directly accessible via URL without the user being prompted for a login. Anybody have any idea what the issue may be?

Thanks,
Frank

I'm running 4.6.2 and I have the same problem. I have the file manager set on secure storage. Did you find a solution?

you need to create a secure folder (with a lock as symbol) and place the files inside.

Thanks! That worked. I didn't realize that is the way it worked, even though I looked at online help. Now when I access a direct URL to a secure file it says file not found. Is they a way to configure DNN to automatically redirect to log in?

you might need to tweak the 404 error redirection in IIS web site configuration.
