Look to the Forum permissions.  The Group Role of your account did not have permission to post in the Forum.  The anonymous posting is not a feature yet for the Forum Module.

Hi

I downloaded and installed the  latest version of dotnetnuke 04.06.02.    I added a new page and added Forum module on it.   I visited the page as anonymous user and registered my self as guest/guest123.   I went to forums -> Discussions  General   , but i don;t see any option to create a new post.

The problem still remains as it was before installing new version.     Any further help.

Regards
JIGNESH

Jignesh, can you please clarify what the problem is overall. If it is permissions, you should read my blogs about permissions, forum behavior and types.

I have the same problem -

using DNN3.3.7 forum module 3.20.09

setup members role with a user in it.

setup 3 forum groups each with one forum in them. Set the Authorized Edit Roles:
in the forum administration /manage forums/groups to registered and members on each forum

logoff anf then login as a member and cannot start a new thread. Only admin can.

have tried every setting and cannot get past this problem

can any one advise on this.

In legacy forum versions (anything prior to version 4.4.3) you need to give "Registered Users" edit permissions on the module. The only time you need to set the authorized edit role in those versions is if you intend on limiting who can post beyond "Registered Users".

HI Crispy

It sounds to me like permission issue.  Would be great if you could post direct link to your blog "permissions, forum behavior and types".
