I have a module that needs to capture that the user is logging out. Any ideas?

Hi jspurlin,

As far as I am aware, there is no such event that is available for you to capture. Indeed, even the membership provider is not notified on a user logout. I created a Gemini issue (DNN-4532) awhile back requesting this feature. It's at http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=4532 if you're interested in commenting.

In the meantime, the best you'll likely be able to do is to subclass the default DNN authentication scheme, override the logoff behavior, and send an IMC message out. In my experience, it's been very difficult to subclass and resuse existing DNN UI-level functionality, however.

If you're impatient, you might also be able to just implement a hack directly into the auth system. Look at admin/Authentication/Logoff.ascx.vb for a good starting point.

Hope this gets you started!

As Brandon mentions there is not currently a notification method for this action.  I personally find it very hard to rely on this action, even if I could because none of my users actually use the "log out" link anyway...
