Hi MontereyWolf,

i had the same problem 2 days aggo.

I was trying to upgrade DNN 4.3.5 to 4.6.2 everything crashes and i got very much different errors.

I tryed to upgrade 4.3.5 to atleast 4.5.5 and it works fine! no problems.

Now iam testing to upgrade from 4.5.5 up to 4.6.2. I will report!

Please tell us your current DNN version and if you want to upgrade.

Hi Marc,

Thanks for the input.  The strange thing on this one is that I am a new DNN advocate based on what I have seen of the community and the overall structure.  My DNN 4.6.2 installation attempt is my first one.  I am beginning to suspect that it may be an issue with SQL Express 2005 vs. a protocol I followed which was for SQL 2005.   I had just gotten a new desktop build and thought that it has SQL 2005 on the RAID drive.  Turns out it is SQL 2005 Express.

Make sure that your web server has ASP.Net 2.0 properly installed and that the app pool in which the DNN install is running is set for ASP.Net 2.0. I've seen this same error when either only ASP.Net 1.1 was installed or the application was incorrectly set to run in ASP.Net 1.1 rather than 2.0.

Thank you for the additional insight Bill.  Much appreciated.  I will check it out as well...
