I have designed my first skin, uploaded it successfully but when trying to apply it I get an error message on the Preview:

Could Not Load Skin: /Portals/_default/Skins/VIPstory-skin/skin.ascx Error: The ID 'ContentPane' is already used by another control.

The skin is made in Dreamweaver as a plain HTML-file with an XML-file. I tried changing the name of [CONTENTPANE] to [CONTENTPANE:1] in order to eliminate use of that namn but it does not seem to help at all.

What am I doing wrong?

can you post up your html code for us to have a look?

double check to see if there is anything in your tables cells with the id="contentpane"

After searching the forum here I also did a search on Google and found someone with a similar problem that suggested skipping the xml-file with defintions of CONTENTPANE:1 etc and doing it directly in the HMTL-file,

example <td vAlign="top" width="120" class="LeftPane" ID="LeftPane" RUNAT="server"> </td>

After doing this it worked fine...

Every contentpane ID needs to have a different name. so the suggestion is correct. just do a search in your skin and if you find two instance of ContetPane then that explaines why you get the error. The others should be called other names like leftpane, rightpane etc...

This is my first time creating the skin in DNN. I added in another pane and when I upload the skin I get this error:

Could Not Load Skin: /Portals/_default/Skins/TestSkin/skin.ascx, Error: The ID 'ContentPane1' is already used by another control.

I read threads above, but I don't use the name anywhere else. Whichever name I choose it gives me the same error. Here is the code.

Can anyone help? Thanks!
