Hi,

I'm using a custom made skin that has a horizontal menu. There are hundreds of pages on my site, and users are finding it difficult to navigate. I would like to experiment with the layout used here at DotNetNuke.com in the Online Help section; vertical menu (with pretty folders etc).

Can anyone tell me, has the site here just applied the vertical menu skin to the whole Help page/tab, or is it a seperate module on the page. I ask because there are still horizontal menus at the top of the Online Help page.

Is it easy to modify a skin to have this vertical menu?

Thanks

Drew

Drew,

The page you inquired about (DNN Help) uses a module (Help) that produces the menu tree. However, the treeView menu is a built in feature to DNN. Take a look at the DNN-Blue or DNN-Gray [stock] skin, there you will see the Vertical Menu skins. This should get you started.

if you want to use a folder tree design, have a look at the delivered default skins with vertical menu using it. another option is using vertical version of the default dnnmenu.

Thanks for the replies.

I've copied the following code from the default vertical skins to my custom made skins, but instead of displaying a vertical menu in my custom made skin, dnn is reverting back to the default skin.

Any thoughts?

<%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="TREEVIEW" Src="~/admin/Skins/TreeViewMenu.ascx"%>

 <TD class="leftpane" id="LeftPane" runat="server" valign="top" align="center">
      <dnn:TREEVIEW id="dnnTreeView" runat="server"
      bodyCssClass="Normal"
      CssClass="TreeViewMenu"
    headerCssClass="TreeViewMenu_Header"
    headerTextCssClass="Head"
    level="root"
    nowrap="true"
    treeIndentWidth="5"/>
      <BR>
    </TD>

Oops, I was duplicating one of the classes.

Many thanks for your help.
