Hello,

[in short]

is there a way to keep a forum synchronized with a newsgroup and vice versa?

[detailed description]

I am going to initiate a open source project at eclipse.org. Eclipse.org hosts newsgroups to support the communication between open source developers and the users. I am not to happy with the newsgroup format because I think it is a obstacle to new/novice users. I have a DNN based web site that documents the development of the open source component. I also added the Forum module to my site.

Now messages posted to the newsgroup should be also visible in the forum and vice versa. Also answering to a message from the newsgroup in the forum and vice versa should be possible.

Can this be done with the Forum module?

Thanks in advance!

It cannot, unless you change the source code that is.
