How can protect compiled code to work only with an unlock code?

you need to integrate some licensing mechanism, unfortunately there is no specific support included with DotNetNuke.

You will need to implement some kind of licencing mechanism yourself for this. For example by having someone that purchases your module registering onyour website and asking for a code (could be manually but you could also automate the process of course).

One of the reasons for the GUID in DNN per instance (visible on Host Settings page) is that it would allow module developers to uniquely identify a DotNetNuke instance. This can also be used in a licencing mechanism.

afaik there's even a GUID per portal, so  you could use that to license per portal.

Mind you: it is somewhat dangerous to strictly rely on the guids available in DNN, as those can easily copied from another install...

Erik,

Do you have suggestions and links to instructions on how to handle licensing in custom modules?
