Ok, so the DNN SendMail works....but it doesn't send out to some email addresses for some reason.  Why?  Is there a relationship between the FROM email and the TO email that must be accounted for?  Must the TO email NOT be an email in the user database?

Obviously the DNN SendMail function will send mail TO your reciepient but it depends on what the email address is.  Can someone tell me how/why/what depends about the TO email address before this function will work?

Or can someone shed some light on an alternate send mail function that will consisently email out emais?

Ryno,

the DNN sendMail function quite simply wraps .net send method - if the messages don't get through, I assume that there are restrictions applying to your SMTP server. It would be helpful for you, if you are able to turn on mail server logs to get errors listed.

Thanks Sebastian.  This is happening both on my local Windows Vista programming environment and on my production server.  I'm not sure how to find server logs but I'll try to find those on Vista.

The odd thing is the sendmail on my local environment will send to X@mysite.com but will not send to Y@mysite.com for some reason.  The production server (hosted by somebody else) has the same issue.  It will email to x@mysite.com but not y@mysite.com although I have no issues with email from y@mysite.com.  Neither will send to C@aol.com either by the way.  Strange.

I don't know, which conjunction your SMTP server requires between login credentials and sender, but IMO this is an area to investigate. I am not aware of issues in the send interface atm.
