Need some help here... I have several portals running on one installation that is acting goofy.  Here is an example of the symptoms:

  • Action - Click Add new Page from the Contol Panel.  Result - Refeshes the page with the page in View mode. Clicking Add again will put me into Edit mode
  • Action - Update the Text in an HTML module.  Result - Refreshes the page with the page in view mode. Text changes are lost.
  • This is happening to all sites running on this installation.
  • This was not happening yesterday to any of the sites
  • Able to reproduce the problem on several computers using several different browsers (after clearing cache and cookies)
  • It seems that any link that uses_doPostBack is corrupt

Let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks!!!

Dave

Hi!

I have the same problem!

The only way I find to sort it is to restart IIS. Not a good solution.

Let me know if you find a better ;)

  1. in host settings make sure, you don't activate compression and whitespace filter the same time
  2. in host settings make sure that viewstate is pertained on the page, not in memory.

Thanks Sebastian!!  Changing viewstate to the page seems to have solved the problem.  Unfortunatley one new problem has popped up.  While logged in as host with the mode on edit all of my  modules do not show content and the action menu to edit the content has disappear.  The conentent appears fine in view mode or as an unauthenticated user.  The good thing is that this is only happening to my portal and not on my customers portals.
