Hi,

As per the FAQ elsewhere regarding the 4.4.3 release, I have turned off edit permissions for forum users ie Under Admin, Pages, the forum users role only has view permissions.

This works fine, the only issue I have is that the slim bar across the top of the window (Mode: Edit or View) appears when logged on as a user in this group only on this page on the site: non-forum pages do not get this. Hence it appears to allow (from the Mode: View Edit radio butons at the very top left of the browser window) users to edit the page. In fact changing the radio button form View to Edit makes no difference: editing is not allowed.

Am I making any sense? Sorry I have not got the technical lingo! What am I doing wrong here? How can I stop this Mode: View / Edit bar from appearing on the forums page?

Thanks!

Mike

If you are seeing the control panel View/Edit radio button, you must be logged in with a user who has page edit perms, or edit perms on a module on that page still.

Thanks so much, Crispy! When I had a closer look, sure enough the user still had edit permissions on one module...

Another one! I know this is not the done thing, but when I search the forum discussions I can't find anything useful on increasing the indentation on the tree view. There is a reference to editing the css with no real instructions, but when I look at the css and the sections like:

.Forum_TreeNormal
{
    font-size: 12px;
  font-family: Arial;
  color: #403F3F;
  vertical-align: middle;
}

I can't see any obvious way to make the tree view more indented

Can you help!

Thanks!

Mike
