Hi Hoang,

Looks like I'm having exactly the same problem as you ...

DotNetNuke Error: - Version 04.08.00

Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.

I'm with 1&1 as well.

I've made sure I've given the NETWORK SERVICE user full file permissions from the root downwards.

Like you, the install went OK (after having to do the 1&1 requirement of putting the web.config file in the root directory etc.), I also got the homepage up, but got this error when I attempted to login (as admin), i.e. it fell over after I pressed login.

When I tried to register a new user, I got all the details in, but then it fell over with the same error.

Interesting about medium and full trust - will be interesting to see if anyone can answer this for us!

Regards, Dean.

I've looked into this a bit more.

I think it's almost certainly down to trust level.  Look at this MS article: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms998326.aspx

I suspect that 1&1 have medium trust level within their shared environments (fair enough really).  I'm using shared hosting and presume you are as well?

However, looking at the dnn web.config file, it does mention about compatibility with medium level trust, so may be the resolution of this may be possible on the dnn side.  I somehow doubt if 1&1 will want to reduce their trust level for us, if dnn really requires it!:
