dnn version 04.05.05, Repository version Version: 3.1.14.15506 We set up a DNN site for a local non profit and created a page for their doard of directors to communicate with each other.  One of the modules in use is hte Reposiotory for storing and retrieving meeting minutes, etc.  WE upgraded to thie current version of the Repository module to see fi we could fix the problem we have been seeing for some time.  The problem some people can upload but not downlaod the files loaded.  When they try to download a file they just uploaded they get the error that the file cannot be found.

There are two roles setup for this page.  Board members who have the permission can download, provide ratings, and comment and the role Board Content Manager who can do everything (moderate, download, upload, etc).  When I assign myself to the board memebers role, I can download documents all day long.  IF I assign myself to teh Board content manager role I can also download.  The client who has the role fo board content manager can upload documents, but when she tried to down load them she gets a file not found error.

Got any ideas?

Are you using any of the compression or whitespace options on the site?

look at the repository module settings page when you are logged in using the host account. At the bottom is a section that controls where the files are stored in the various states ( ie: approved, pending, anonymous )

I don't think it's role related, because if a person is deemed not to have the proper roles to download, then the download button will not display. You are describing different bahavior, the client is clicking on the DOWNLOAD link ( which indicates that the client hasthe appropriate download role ), so it has to be something to do with the actual file retrieval. When you say you can "download files all day long" are you saying that you can download the "specific" file that the client cannot?

In response to "When you say you can "download files all day long" are you saying that you can download the "specific" file that the client cannot?" the answer is yes.  They upload a file, they can see it listed in the repository and it shows on the repository dashboard.  They click the download link and they get the file cannot be found.  I log in and can.

In answer to the question regarding document location, the answer is below.  In case the image does not render proerply in the forum, approved files, unapporved files and annonymous files all point to the same place C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\dnnOFS\Portals\2\Repository and Store uploaded files in User folders is unchecked.
