I'm not sure exactly what you mean, does the user have the option to specify which editor they use by default?

If you notice, at the top of every editor view there is a "Basic Text Box" and a "Rich Text Editor". This is what i mean, we cannot choose providers as we are adhering to the core provider model which sets this in the web.config.

So is the editor supposed to stay in the same setting that you chose last time?

Yes, it is saved as a cookie so it will stay the same as long as you are on the same machine. Again, I broke that functionality for add/edit post for the time being.
