I have been looking for an events modules that is very basic. The two prominent modules out there -- smart-thinker and the existing core are good modules but either require a lot of input and/or  have trouble with displaying a configurable list on the main page. I need to be able to have a lightweight module that I can put many instances on a site and also have a corresponding list to display on a main page.

Anyone know of a module that has basic input (title, dates, description, category) with the ability to show a list on the main page?

Anyone heard anything from the events module developer -- I know a new version is in th works but had not heard a thing...

Yes, I have already thought of that but I also need to click to event details from the list. I came accross an add on module for the core events module that displays a list and will give that a try.
