In a shared hosting environment, is it possible within your DNN installation to have a subdirectory/folder that contains another installation of DNN so that you would access it by http://www.yourdomainname.com/subfoldername ?

The shared hosting environment that I use allows for subdirectories to be set as IIS .Net applications and allows you to set the version of the .Net framework to use and I am using a second database for the second installation as this is a fresh install not a copy of my existing main site.  However I keep running into problems by getting the standard error page returned to me.

Before I spend a lot of time spinning my wheels, I wanted to ask if anyone has attempted this type of install of a second DNN application within their main DNN application and if there is anything special that must be done?

AFAIK in the same DNN installation you can create a child portal, that will have the address http://www.yourdomainname.com/subfoldername but you cannot create a complete installation of DNN in a subfolder.

Thanks for the input on the question I had.  I did try several times putting a second install in a subdirectory/folder of the main install and kept running into issues.  I didn't want to spin my wheels though and so thought I would ask before spending too much time on it.

Thanks for the information.
