I am trying to figure out how I can better control how contents of a Text/HTML module.  Currently when I add a new module and add content the fonts and layout gets changed from what I developed on my external HTML Editor...

Perhaps there is a way to do this with CSS syntax?

Any ideas?

The skinning system is really designed so that your content is affected by the styles as you have found out.

Unless there is some particular reason why you need to style content differently in each module, you should try and modify your skin styles so that your material is styled consistently.

One reason I can imagine why one would want styles to be unaffected by the portal is if one is pasting in office documents such as spreadsheets or formatted reports in Word. In this case, you would probably need to apply custom styles to the entire document bfore copying it across. Also, don't let the FCK editor remove the styles on pasting.

There are some tweaks for FCK that will enable it to display text durign editing more closely to how it will appear on the page. Check in the FCK forum for posts about FCK customisations.
