Alright, so right now i have this problem :

www.mithco.com/portal

The error is simply

'Error: Access is Denied.'

Access is denied for what? What can I do? I checked the logs, and there is nothing. Before this, there was the error:

'Failed to initialize the AppDomain:/LM/W3SVC/23216/Root/dotnetnuke Exception: System.IO.FileLoadException Message: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied. StackTrace: at System.Reflection.Assembly.nLoad(AssemblyName fileName, String codeBase, Evidence assemblySecurity, Assembly locationHint, StackCrawlMark& stackMark, Boolean throwOnFileNotFound, Boolean forIntrospection)at System.Reflection.Assembly.InternalLoad(AssemblyName assemblyRef, Evidence assemblySecurity, StackCrawlMark& stackMark, Boolean forIntrospection) at System.Reflection.Assembly.InternalLoad(String assemblyString, Evidence assemblySecurity, StackCrawlMark& stackMark, Boolean forIntrospection) at System.Activator.CreateInstance(String assemblyName, String typeName, Boolean ignoreCase, BindingFlags bindingAttr, Binder binder, Object[] args, CultureInfo culture, Object[] activationAttributes, Evidence securityInfo, StackCrawlMark& stackMark) at System.Activator.CreateInstance(String assemblyName, String typeName) at System.AppDomain.CreateInstance(String assemblyName, String typeName) at System.AppDomain.CreateInstance(String assemblyName, String typeName) at System.Web.Hosting.ApplicationManager.CreateAppDomainWithHostingEnvironment(String appId, IApplicationHost appHost, HostingEnvironmentParameters hostingParameters) at System.Web.Hosting.ApplicationManager.CreateAppDomainWithHostingEnvironmentAndReportErrors(String appId, IApplicationHost appHost, HostingEnvironmentParameters hostingParameters) For more information, see Help and Support Center at '

And the error:

'Failed to execute request because the App-Domain could not be created. Error: 0x80070005 Access is denied

One website suggested I add ASPNET and Network Service account to the %systemroot%/microsoft.net as having permissions, so i did. and I added these accounts to IIS as well. Now I get this error.

What should I do?

Joel

Joel, based on the above I have one suggestion but first a couple of questions.  Some basic information that will help anyone with responding to problems includes the following...

  1. What version of DotNetNuke are you using?
  2. What version of WIndows is the web site running on?
  3. What version of ASP.Net are you running on?  Note: DotNetNuke 4.x is designed to run on ASP.Net 2.0, DotNetNuke 3.x is designed for ASP.Net 1.1
  4. What version of IIS are you running on?

Not knowing the answers to the above, try the following...

On the web server open a DOS window then...

  1. Navigate to the .Net directory of the version that you are running.  For example, if you are running .Net 2.0 it would typically be "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.xxxxx" where xxxxx is the specific version you have installed on the machine.
  2. enter the following command:  aspnet_regiis.exe -i.  This command registers the version of ASP.Net in the current directory for use in IIS.
  3. Make sure that in IIS your DotNetNuke website is using the correct version of ASP.Net -- you can find this setting in IIS on the Poperties tab for you website on the "ASP.Net" tab.

I hope this is of help.  Post back the results.

Chuck R.
