I did this yesterday but I did it by opening the template file in Dreamweaver, editing it, then FTPing it on to the server. The file I edited had a .ascx extension.

There was more than one file as part of the skin I used because it could have horizontal or vertical menu layout so it is just a matter of identifying the template your installation is using.

You will find the files in Portal > _default > Skins > then the name of the skin folder.

Before you remove the login though be sure to create a login page so that you can still access your site. More importantly make sure the login page works because mine didn't and I got locked out! So here is a link to get you back in just in case you get locked out too!!

Good luck!

You need to remove it from the skin file.

If you do that, how will you then login and maintain the site?

Simon has a good point.  You can remove the Register by going to Admin>Site Settings and in the Advanced Settings area change registration to None.  Then I would suggest moving the Login token to a different location on your page.  I frequently use somewhere where the end user won't see it that easy (footer to the left or right of the page)  You could also change the style of the text to it is the same color as the background of your page and then you will be the only one who will know where it is.
