Hi Phil,

It's not a problem to use dnn 4.9.5 instead 4.4.1, but you have to understand some points. Your version will NOT woks with previous dnn versions (4.9.4, 4.8.3, and so on). You encourter errors probably because you do not use a dnn WITH sources! You should use dnn 4.9.5 WITH sources installed in the folder C:\DotNetNuke_2 and create a virtual folder under IIS named "DotNetNuke_2" pointing to the C:\DotNetNke_2/Website foder. If you choose to use differents folder name and different virtual folder name then you have to edit manualy your VS solution file BEFORE open the solution under VS! This was specified in the post (chapter 1):

If you DO NOT use C:\DotNetNuke_2 as installation folder and DotNetNuke_2 as virtual folder name, then you have to edit the solution file BEFORE open it in VS!

Sorry but I can't maintain every config in the world! Please follow my advices, if you don't want loose time.

Gilles

Hi,

First you should use the last version available at Codeplex! Even if the version 02.01.28 is stated as beta, it's the "recommended" version. This version contains a lot of bug fixes and new features. The only difference between an "official" release and a beta is the release tracker submission. This process control several steps to verify if the module comply with DNN rules about Package, Install, Localization and so on. This is NOT a warranty against bugs! The "beta" state is used because Codeplex allow only three states (Alpha, Beta, Release). Moreover, the version at Codeplex contains the Skin Object and the new Templating Guide. You HAVE to use the skin object if you want to use the source version! You should read the Templating Guide because sometimes users think than they need the source version to change the look of the Store. You do NOT require the source version if you want to change only how to display products.

Concerning your problem, I have already explained in the first post than you HAVE to install your DNN instance in the folder C:\DotNetNuke_2. This is not related to the Store module nor to DNN, but related to VS solution file design. Because the solution file contains references to a web site (DotNetNuke_2) YOU HAVE to use the same web site config to be able to use the solution whitout changes. If you don't want to follow my advices, you have to modify your solution file (DotNetNuke.Store.sln) using any text editor BEFORE open the solution with VS and replace references to the DotNetNuke_2 folder with your own folder name. Really, I do not understand why SO MANY users DO NOT follow my advices and prefer to loose a lot of hours or days! If you are a beginer with DNN developement and VS, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE follow my advices. The Store module is a big one and the solution contains 21 C# projects, don't expect to apply changes easily if you do not have a strong knowledge of ASP.NET, C# and DNN module developement.

I wish you a Happy New Year! :-)

Gilles

I am trying to install the store module with source so I can attempt to fix the IPN problem. I followed all the instructions at the beginning of this post, but when I get to step 4.3 (Double click on the solution file: DotNetNuke.Store.sln), the sln file is not there. I found it inside the store zip inside another zip called Resources. It appears that the files inside this Resources zip did not get installed. Can I copy these files manually somewhere or is there a known solution to this problem?
