Following the helpful advice in an earlier thread, I am partially successfully importing data into a UDT by creating the XML required to do so.

I say partially, because I can only import into a UDT once.  When I try a second time, the system takes about 20 seconds, then reports "An error occurred during the import".  Once it is broken like this, it will not import any data.  Even doing an Export Content, then immediately doing the Import Content on the file created fails.

Creating a new UDT and doing the Import Content works fine.

Has anyone experienced this, or can advise how to go about diagnosing the problem?

Add and update-operations are indeed very slow inside UDT. Import performs bulk add data, so it takes a long time.

However I run a test importing 100,000 rows some time ago, and it run through without any errors beside that that the import page  times out on client site. You can leave that page directly after hiting the import button and inspect your created udt. Refreshing that page you will see the list growiing and growing. The 100,000 import has taken plenty of minutes to perform, though finally it finshed successfull.
