  • are files and folders tables indexed correctly?

Check out the Files and Folders tables in your database, there shall be indexes to prevent duplicates (accoding to file/folder name and path) and a relation between Folders and Files on FolderID. This was introduced in DNN 4.4.0-4.5.0 and from my experience, adding the contraints failed in a number of installations due to existing duplicate keys.

Did you get a resolution to this error.  I have a similar problem.  I upload some files and folders, then the next day or later that day the files are gone.  Its quite a problem because the missing files and folders are my website logo and some of the main PDF's clients use.  I'm keen to hear if you have a solution.  Currently I don't have FileSync on at all in the schedule as I can't find information that tells me what it actually does (apart from assuming what it does based on its name)

Dean,

what happens exactly - does the file disappear in file manager or is the logo file deselected in site settings?

Hi

Here the description of the file sync problem.

The file sync in the HOST->schedule does not work.
I have set this feature off (because it is not work correctly)

I used in HOST->SQL the command "sp_tables" and found some old tables of modules who did not correctly did the uninstall.
(I noticed in the past sometimes weird behavior and posted earlier a question about this
see. http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/118/threadid/177538/scope/posts/Default.aspx)
These modules left old tables in the database.
These tables are:
Apollo_modulelocalization table
wwstore_* tables
a suggestion how to remove these tables are welcome.

I noticed with a ftp program that some files are present on the server, and not showing while I use the file manager.
I do not see files of the DNN_Gray skin and container. The files of the other containers and skins are showing correct with the file manager.
A "remove" and "install" of these files did not make them appear.

With regards, Ton Hermes

Ton,

unnecessary tables or other objects in the database are usually anoying but not interrupting core functions.

System folders are not searched for files, AFAIR those are Cache, Skins and Containers with all subfolders.

I know this is a dead thread but I'm getting this issue too. I added a folder via FTP and it doesn't show up in Powerdnn's control panel file manager. I add a folder to the file manager and it doesn't show up in FTP, neither Filezilla or WS_FTP. I can't access my skin files even though the skin is available as an option in the skin selection menus and is selected and displayed on the site. I tried deleting the files and adding new ones in both FTP, DNN and the Powerdnn Control Panel. Nothing worked. What kind of weird crap is this? Anyone got any ideas? Seems like a permissions issue but I don't want to mess anything up through trial and error. Someone HAS to have experienced this and fixed it before. Unless I again used my "gift" of finding rare and obscure problems. Anyone need a QC person or Beta Tester for their team?! I swear I'll find EVERY problem.
